This site functions as the central repository for information regarding WFU's efforts in [[Linux]] based [[clusters]] and [[grid computing]]. Information ranging from present and future cluster initiatives to setting up and administering your cluster can be found here. Also, this site represents a forum for researchers to post items of interest for all. This includes newly available grants, research topics that need to be worked on, ideas for joint research ventures, etc. This centralized resource will hopefully result in connecting researchers with common interests in exploring, developing and utilizing the potential of clusters/grid computing. Clusters provide enormous computational power to tackle more advanced scientific problems, opening up the possibility for our students to gain a unique perspective on topics in the forefront of research today. Any faculty member can (and is encouraged to!!!) request the use of the cluster for a course they are teaching. Several courses have already used the DEAC/Osiris cluster to enhance the student's exposure to the advanced computing environment provided by the University.
